CONNECTIVITY inside a newly regenerated business park has been fully digitally enabled – thanks to the support of Connectus.
The owners of Green Park Business Centre near York turned to Connectus for support in reviewing their broadband services.
And Connectus’ team of industry-leading experts were able to design a solution that provided access to a new gigabit enabled broadband service which digitally enables 100% of the park
Speaking on behalf of the Green Park, Richard Osborne, from JLL Properties, explained how Connectus’ support has boosted the site.
He said: “Connectus provided a ‘turn-key’ design and build fibre solution at an out of town industrial estate from supply and installation of the external cabinet, to pulling in the fibre, cabling, and overseeing the testing and commissioning.
“It was a very smooth operation, and our client was pleased with the end result, which has added value to the asset.”
Green Park Business Centre is a well-established industrial estate located in Sutton-on-the-Forest, north of York City Centre.
The estate offers a mix of industrial and office accommodations across 28 units, set within a maintained and landscaped environment secured by perimeter palisade fencing and a gated entrance.
Connectus has massively boosted connection speeds to 1,000 Mbps for each of the businesses based there, which were working with a maximum of 11 Mbps before the work was completed.
The park was acquired by Paloma Capital who approached Connectus to review existing broadband services across the site and consider how to consolidate all landlord services into a single demarcation point.
It is one of a number of projects where the firm is building gigabit speed full fibre networks at selected business parks across the north of England.
Locations include the Gateway East Doncaster logistics park, the Wirral Waters and Liverpool Waters regeneration zones, and Media City in Salford.
Roy Shelton, CEO of the Connectus Group, said: “Having worked previously with Paloma, we understood the high level of services and facilities they required on the site to both deliver improved services to existing businesses and attract new ones.
“It was evident that the park lacked the opportunity for delivery of full-fibre gigabit enabled services. A limited Fixed wireless access network had been deployed but did not meet the increasing demands required by organisations for online commerce.
“Working with several organisations charged with the development works across the park, we designed a solution that provided access to our new gigabit enabled broadband. In support of this and future phased developments for the park, we configured a duct and chamber infrastructure that will service the park for many years.
“Understanding the need to meet the landlord’s request for a single demarcation point for its services, we installed a multi-service street cabinet. As well as support for our broadband equipment, it also enabled the landlord to centralise their own services, including CCTV and newly installed automated gates.
“The cabinet enables full remote management of the broadband services, including fast deployment and ongoing monitoring as well access from the Management Suite for landlords onsite services.
“Businesses on the site are already benefiting from these new broadband services and recently refurbished units offer new tenants delivery of gigabit enabled broadband along with immediate access to our range of fully managed IT services which are proven to mitigate cost complexity and risk.”
