full fibre network at waterside

Leading business-to-business managed service provider and cyber security specialist Connectus has announced it is extending its full fibre network to three additional business parks in St Helens and Chester.

The company, which already supports hundreds of businesses across the North of England, is expanding into Waterside Business Park in St Helens, Canal Side and Chowley Oak in Chester.

They are home to around 100 companies who will be able to access Connectus’ low-cost full fibre network, as well as increasing capacity and locations for their secure hosting.

Tenants at the three business parks currently rely on accessing FTTC services. The new full-fibre network will give them ultra-fast gigabit bandwidth and a dedicated unlimited circuit which comes fully monitored and supported by Connectus’ expert team.

More than 80% of businesses have already committed, with fixed costs starting at £69.99 per month, demonstrating the need for a reliable one provider approach.

Further investment is also being made into the Connectus hosting services which are currently distributed across three data centres in Doncaster, Wolverhampton and London to provide greater resilience.

This investment into additional facilities and capacity is to meet the growing demand for cloud-based services and hybrid working as businesses evolve and adapt to new working practices post-pandemic.

The facilities are built on the Connectus partnerships and accreditations with key partners such as Dell, Microsoft , VEEAM, Heimdal and VMWare.

Andy Marsden, Group Business Development Director, said he was delighted that Connectus was delivering on its promise to SME businesses by opening up access to ultra-fast fibre to help them to operate and grow in an ever-changing digital world.

He added: “The need for SMEs to embrace digital transformation is more apparent every day; businesses are now becoming more dependent on cloud-based systems which in turn increase the demand for more bandwidth.

Our secure hosting for data backup, retrieval and the hosting of web applications and clients’ websites provides real peace of mind for our clients and underpins the overwhelming success in our Connect-Protect-Collaborate managed services model.
