Last year we were contacted by Chester-based media agency, Magnify PR, who were experiencing a major issue with their email system.
Explaining what happened, their founder and director Nick Owens, said: “Since forming my business in 2020, I’ve always been one of those owners who joked about their need to boost my level of tech awareness. But just before Christmas I saw with my own eyes the importance of taking this issue more seriously. I woke up one morning to find the provider of my email account had, without warning, closed down my account. Not only that, but the provider had also closed down access to associated spreadsheets, accounts and crucial documentation which was of vital importance to the day to day running of my business. I initially felt a sense of dread, but this grew with each passing hour. After failing to resolve the situation within 24 hours I began to genuinely worry about how my business was going to manage. But as ever with moments of crisis, positives emerge. I was fortunate to have the help of Roy Shelton and his team at Connectus. Within 24 hours of the tech-roof falling in on me, Connectus’ team had calmly moved to create a new email account which ensured my agency could continue to function and service the clients we support.
